Project
4000m² covering 12 operating theatres, two main kitchens, corridors and various side rooms. The floor had to be seamless with coved skirting topped with stainless steel trims.
Challenge
This was not a case of simply laying a floor…
The client presented a very tight programme along with strict tolerance for airflows through doorways, which all had to be met.
Due to delays on site prior to the flooring installation, the client required Polydeck Resins to finish on time and pushed for the work to be accelerated.
The site was a live working building, so access was restricted. Areas were released on an area to area basis. Cold temperatures on site, necessitated the flooring be laid in heated zones.
Solution
The products used were: Flowcrete – Peran STB Classic Quartz system which was then sealed using a tough UVR resistant polyurethane sealer.
Installation on each room was completed by two specialist teams made up of six layers and six sealers working consecutively on site, resulting in the finished project being completed successfully, on time and within budget.
